Employee Discrimination

Have You Suffered From Employee Discrimination?

Have you experienced discrimination in the workplace based upon your age, gender, disability, national origin, race, sexual orientation or veteran status? As an employment law attorney with nearly 30 years of experience, I can ensure your claim is handled in a timely and appropriate manner.

If you believe you have been discriminated against at work, you should contact a lawyer immediately. There are time limitations to certain claims. Failure to begin the legal process in a timely manner can mean you lose your right to bring a claim. Call me today at 413-637-5675 to schedule your free initial consultation.

Knowledgable Help With Employment Discrimination Claims

I can file your claim with the appropriate state or federal agency and ensure your rights are protected throughout the process. Depending on your situation, I will make a filing with the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission or both. My firm handles employee discrimination claims arising from the following:

  • Age discrimination
  • Gender/sex discrimination
  • National origin discrimination
  • Racial discrimination
  • Disability/handicap discrimination
  • Sexual orientation discrimination
  • Veteran status discrimination

As an experienced attorney, I understand you have many fears. You may be worried about losing your job. You may have already lost your job and need additional assistance obtaining unemployment benefits. If you have not lost your job, I encourage you to make a written complaint to your employer regarding the discrimination. By doing so, you may build a claim for wrongful termination based on retaliation.

I also understand you have concerns about how long this process will take. The vast majority of employee discrimination lawsuits settle approximately one year after filing.

What is Discrimination?

Discriminatory actions can be obvious or relatively covert. Discrimination has to be between an individual of a protected class — for example, a person over 40 years old, a female or someone with a disability — and someone who is not in the protected class but is at or near the same level of employment. That individual must be treated differently than you are. The difference must be concrete such as a different office location, different work hours, different benefits or different compensation.

Have you been the victim of discrimination in the workplace? Contact me to schedule your free initial consultation. At the time of your consultation, I will be happy to discuss the projected cost of legal representation in your discrimination case. My office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m., with weekend consultations available by appointment.
